Current Vacancies

We need you!

Currently we are looking for Volunteers to fill these roles. Full training is given and all roles are fun, interesting and hugely rewarding:

Volunteer Kayakers

Group Managers (Group Scout Leaders)
Do you have Management skills or would you like to develop such skills? We have a number of groups looking for ‘Group Scout Leaders’ which is a people management role to support and line manage the Section leaders of a Group.

Section Leaders and Helpers
We have a number of vacancies within Guernsey Scout groups for section leaders and helpers across the Island. Leader roles are flexible and can fit around the time you have. Ideally this is a weekly committment but we would welcome any help you can give.

Group Committee Members
Each of the Islands groups has a committee which helps the leaders to provide the best possible programme for the Young People. The committee members are Trustees of the Group, and they help the group follow the Scout policies. A key part of the committee’s role will be to fundraise and look after the equipment of the group so secretaries, book keepers and handy people are great in this role.

Musical Skills Instructors
Scouting offers a huge range of activities for Young People but this wouldn’t be possible without volunteers to help pass on their skills and teach others. We are currently in need of people to help with our Scout Band so if you’ve got musical talent this could be perfect for you.

HR (Appointments) Team members
The AAC (Appointments Advisory Committee) advises the Bailiwick Commissioner on all adult appointments and this often involves the candidate having an interview with a panel of 3 members chosen from the AAC.
More information on the Appointments Process and the role of the committee can be found using this link:
The Committee is looking for further members to join it and would particularly welcome applications from young adults.
You do not need to have a knowledge of Scouting but maybe you have some HR experience or an interest in the development of youngsters?
If you would like to learn more or have an informal chat about the role, please contact Martyn Mann the Chair on

Media Committee
Do you enjoy using social media? Perhaps you’ve got design skills or can edit a website? Our Media team could really do with your help.
Contact Nick our Bailiwick Commissioner if you think you can help –
